Your company must be a national or international business that is attempting to make a profit by selling their products--in other words, it cannot be a non-profit charity, such as Greenpeace. National and international companies are those that regularly sell products throughout the nation or in multiple nations.

Your company cannot be Starbucks, Timberland, Ben & Jerry's, or a company that was used in class as an example.

Write a persuasive letter to the company asking them to give you information about their environmental efforts. Your letter should be in a proper business format (see links below). The letter is due on or before March 14th. You need to turn in a copy of the letter; this copy will be graded. You also need to turn in the original letter in a self-addressed, stamped envelope. It should be ready to mail; it needs a delivery address (the address of the business), a return address (your address), and an appropriate First Class stamp.

Once you chosen your company, there are numerous ways to find the address. You may visit the company's website to find the address. Another good method is looking on packaging for the company's products; there is often an address and/or phone number to use for contacting the company. If you have the phone number, you can call and ask for an address.

The letter is worth up to 50 homework points.
If the company responds to you, in any way, you earn another 25 points.
If the company send you materials describing their environmental efforts, you earn another 25 points.
If the company sends you enough copies of the materials to give a copy to each student in your class, and provide a copy for me, you earn 100 points.
